When to start a chart

When to start a chart.
A new cycle is started on the first day of mentruation (full red flow). If the menstruation is very light
and does not require more than a panty liner, or is only noticed on the toilet paper, this should be

charted as spotting and not menstruation.

If you are just starting out charting and do not want to wait for your next cycle to start before

starting a chart, enter menstruation in the data entry page for the first day of your last period.

If you're not sure the exact date, it may be estimated but may not give you an accurate chart reading

for the first cycle.
